Why should you look at your marketing?
If you are spending money on marketing or advertising you should be able to measure your leads and conversions. Most business owners believe that they are doing a good job until they look at their conversion rate on paper where they realize it is not as high as they think.
A basic example
A business placed an ad in a publication each week for $300 and said they were getting results from their advertisement but they did not track the results on paper. By taking a few minutes each week and tracking the results of the ad they found out that on average they got 10 people responding to the ad each week that purchased $5 in product. Each week the business spent $300 and only got $50 worth of business which equals a loss of $250 a week.
If you track and measure your marketing costs you will know which strategies are making you money and which ones are not effective so you can allocate money to what is working and get rid of the ones that are not.
